North Dakota Oil Drilling Rigs Lowest Count Since 2009

The number of oil drilling rigs in North Dakota is at the lowest level since 2009.

The state Department of Mineral Resources says there are 75 rigs drilling in the oil patch.

That’s 112 fewer than one year ago.

Oil prices have dropped more than 40 percent since last year.

Department of Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms predicted last month that production would hover around 1 million barrels a day until prices rebound.
