Fargo Commissioner Outraged by Oxbow Buyouts
Fargo City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn is outraged and he thinks you should be too.
Piepkorn is upset about the buyout process of homes in Oxbow.
He says the pricey homes are being bought out by as much as 200 percent of appraised value.
Diversion Authority Chairman Darrell Vanyo the high price tag is driven by a federal rule called “housing of last resort.”
It requires a replacement dwelling of similar size and location for those displaced.
During Monday’s city commission meeting, Piepkorn says he’ll it make it clear that he will no longer support any additional Oxbow buyouts.
