Tornado Drops in Mahnomen; Semi Flipped Onto Car

The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado came within feet of the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen.

The tornado was on the ground around 2 a.m. for about 400 yards and destroyed a shed near the maintenance building, flipped a semi onto a car and destroyed a small building near the bingo palace.

Mahnomen County Sheriff Doug Krier says the small twister was actually caught on surveillance video as it moved within 30 to 40 feet of the casino which was open.

No one was hurt.
