Supreme Court Upholds Affordable Care Act Provision

In a significant win for President Obama, the Supreme Court ruling that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional.

The president is happy with the court’s 6 to 3 ruling to support federally funded subsidies that help 6.4 million Americans afford monthly premiums for health insurance.

Challengers argued four words, “established by the state” clearly barred the federal assistance.

This is the second time the Supreme Court has saved Obamacare.

In 2012, the court stunned pundits by upholding another key provision of the law in a five to four vote.

President Barack Obama said “If the partisan challenge to this law had succeeded millions of Americans would have had thousands of dollars’ worth of tax credit taken from them. For many, insurance would have become unaffordable again.”
Republican candidate for president Sen. Marco Rubio said”I disagree with their decision. I believe Obamacare is bad for Americans, bad for the country.”

Sen. Rand Paul, another Republican candidate for president, said the court made a mistake.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton shared her support in a tweet.
