Minnesota Authorities Tell Wrong Family of Person’s Death
A family is told their son died in a motorcycle crash, only to learn hours later that they had the wrong family.
The mix-up happened last month in the Twin Cities.
29-year-old Jacob Lindholm died in the crash, but he was misidentified as Trevor Zens, whose motorcycle he had borrowed.
Authorities say they were unable to find a photo ID at the crash scene and the motorcycle’s registration led them to Zens’ house.
Officials say such a mix-up is rare because there’s usually something near the body to identify it.
