CodeRed Notification for Missing Child Turns Off People in Local Counties

A recent CodeRed notification in the early morning hours about a missing child has upset some people in Richland and Wilkin counties.

The child was eventually found safe.

But many people are now opting out of the emergency alert system.

That’s concerning to Richland County 911 Director Jill Breuer.

She says it could put some people in danger if there’s an emergency and they don’t know what’s going on.
