First Responder Accused of Theft at Fatal Crash Site Requests Closed Proceedings
A Dalton woman accused of stealing money from a fatal crash scene on I-94 in June will be represented by a public defender.
Tara Lindquist was a first responder with Dalton-Fire Rescue.
She told investigators she found a billfold on the shoulder of the interstate and that she used the money to pay her electric bill.
Zach and Connor Kvalvog of Moorhead died in the pickup rollover.
Two other teens were hurt.
Lindquist asked the judge to close all future court hearings but he denied her request.
She’s expected back in court September 14.
