Casselton Fire Sends One to Hospital
Cass County Deputies say one person was hospitalized after a fire broke out in Casselton.
Officials say residents at the Casselwood Retirement Center were evacuated after a fire broke out about 2 p.m.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
The Casselton Fire Department, Casselton and F–M Ambulance and Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene.
Officials say the fire was controlled within 10 minutes of arrival.
Deputies say it looks like one apartment will need to be reconstructed.
“I’ve been in the apartment so there’s damage to some of the paint, some of the items in their cabinets, just from the heat,” said Cass County Deputy Sheriff Daniel Hermann.
One person was transported to a local hospital with non–life threatening injuries.
Deputies say residents will be displaced until early next week.
