Man Gets Probation for Firing Gun Near His Wife
A judge has sentenced a Minot man to probation for firing a gun near his wife on New Year’s Day.
Prosecutors dropped terrorizing and aggravated assault charges against 33-year-old Philip Maxwell.
He pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment.
Prosecutors say Maxwell was given a plea agreement because he suffered a head injury in a car accident.
According to court documents, Maxwell’s wife also told authorities that her husband is a military veteran who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after being deployed.
