St. Paul First Grader Brings Gun to School; Gun Discharges in Classroom

A first-grader brings a gun to school and it goes off, but no one was hurt.

St. Paul police say the gun was brought into a classroom at Crossroads Elementary by a 7-year-old student.

The weapon discharged into the floor at 8:40 a.m.

Authorities are investigating how the first-grader got the gun and what led to it going off.

The district said such actions have “serious consequences,” and it will follow its standard discipline procedures.
