Oakes Police Chief Announces Retirement

The police chief in Oakes has announced his intention to retire.

Marke Roberts informed the city council of his desire to step away from a full-time role with the department.

He says he would continue to work a 19 hour week to help with training and transitional purposes.

Roberts was recently elected to a seat on the Dickey County Commission.

The police department lost two other officers last month.

Both men said they resigned to pursue other career opportunities.
