Chilly Outside? Have Chilli Inside with SCHEELS

Employees at SCHEELS Home and Hardware tried out something new this morning.

Employees say they wanted to find a way for the store to give back for Thanksgiving so they partnered with The Salvation Army to host a lunch fundraiser.

Employees made homemade soup and chili to serve to customers for a suggested donation of $5 and set up a small dining area in the middle of the store.

“This is the first time we’ve ever done anything like this at our store,” said event organizer Brenna Naseer. “Our employees just wanted to find a way to give to the community on a day like today when everybody’s out and about shopping and crazy and the world of retail we wanted to find a way to give back to Fargo–Moorhead.”

Organizers say the fundraiser collected just under $500 to donate to the Salvation Army.
