Grand Forks Police Nab Hold-Up Suspect

A man was arrested after holding up a worker at Altru Hospital.

Police say the employee was leaving work last night when 29-year-old Derrick Longie of Grand Forks pulled a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet.

He was found after a search and arrested for robbery.

In September 2015, Longie was arrested in Fargo in the nationwide “Operation Homeless” scheme where homeless people were used to cash phony checks.

He was accused of trying to pass a fake $2,600 check at Bremer Bank.
