Missing Woman’s Remains Found in Cass County; Charges Filed in Death

A Twin Cities man has been charged with manslaughter after human remains were found west of Fargo on Friday.

The remains are believed to be those of 45-year-old Michelle Newell of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.

She was last seen with 51-year-old Timothy Barr of Lakeville at a farm southwest of Fargo in last August.

The sheriff’s office says Barr provided information that led deputies to the location where the remains were found.

He had earlier been charged in St. Paul, but those charges were dropped as the search for Newell was underway.
