Williston Toddler in Stable Condition after Shooting

A 3-year-old boy is in stable condition in a Fargo hospital after apparently accidentally shooting himself in the head.

The Williams County Sheriff’s Office was called to the shooting at a house near Williston Monday afternoon.

Deputies found the boy conscious and crying.

He was first taken to Minot for treatment, before being transferred to Fargo.

Authorities don’t know how the child got access to the gun.

They say the shooting appears to be a “tragic accident” but remains under investigation.
