Community Comes together to Discuss Homelessness in the F-M Area

Multiple community organizations came together for the first time to open a dialogue about homelessness in the F–M area at Fargo City Hall.

Some of the organizations at the meeting included the Fargo Police Department, the Fargo–Moorhead Coalition for Homeless Persons and the Downtown Community Partnership.

Discussions focused on clearing up misconceptions about homelessness and spreading information about different resources available to the homeless and other community members.

“We want to work together with whoever is available and willing and that means service providers,” explained Cody Schuler, who is with the CARES Program. “It means businesses, it means the general public to be able to work for those solutions.”

Schuler says the main problem that needs to be addressed is the shortage of affordable housing in the F–M area.
