Church Luncheon Raises Money for Area Food Pantry

Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead supported the Dorothy Day House through its annual Salad and Pie Luncheon

MOORHEAD, Minn. — A congregation at one local church gathered to help an area charity.

The annual Salad and Pie Luncheon was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Downtown Moorhead.

Hundreds gathered for a meal provided by the church.

This year Dorothy Day House was selected to receive proceeds from the event, which provides food to needy families on the F–M area.

“It’s amazing to see the tremendous turnout that Trinity has today,” said Sonja Ellner, Executive Director of the Dorothy Day House.  “We wouldn’t be able to provide food to people in need in the community without the support from local faith communities and all of the people that are attending today.”

Church members said that the pleasant weather helped to boost the turnout.
