Red River Search Suspended

Around 1:30 this afternoon a witness called 9-1-1 after they claim a male wearing dark clothes jump into the river.

MOORHEAD, MN – Rescue crews spent the afternoon searching the river after receiving a call that a man may have jumped in and never came back up.

Around 1:30 this afternoon a witness called 9-1-1 after they claimed a male wearing dark clothes jumped into the river.

Crews responded to the Oak Grove park pedestrian bridge where it meets the Red River.

Divers have been searching the area since late this afternoon.

A sonar boat was also doing a perimeter search up and down the area.

Fire crews and water rescue was called off late this afternoon.

Assistant Moorhead Fire Chief Jeff Wallin tells KVVR that the caller may have been under the influence.

Wallin also said anotherĀ witness was taken to detox.
