Thinking Green: Green Energy Bill
If you're trying to do what you can to keep a "green" mindset, it's time to look at your energy bill.
Did you know that over half the energy produced in America is generated by coal?
I think that’s one of the most anti-green concepts we still face.
Besides using an unsustainable resource, it creates a massive carbon footprint on our planet.
The next time you get your power bill, look at it closely and see if there’s a green energy option that’s listed.
This option means your utility company buys renewable energy generated by wind or solar and then passes it along to you.
It does cost a little bit more, but, not that much and it really helps to support clean, green power.
You can search for these companies through a website, created by the U.S. Department of Energy.
You can even find out what the source of the power is in your area along with the rates.
Just type “Green Power Network” in your favorite search engine to find out if one is in your area.
