Wahpeton Man Sentenced in Breckenridge Shooting

A jury convicted 27-year-old Matthew Allard of assault, making terroristic threats and firing a gun

 

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. — A Wahpeton man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for shooting a man last December.

A jury convicted 27-year-old Matthew Allard of assault, making terroristic threats and firing a gun.

He was found not guilty of attempted murder.

Allard shot Isaac Herrera in the stomach during an argument in Breckenridge.

Allard left the scene of the shooting but was arrested the next day at a mobile home in Wahpeton after an extensive search by authorities.

He will begin serving his sentence at the prison in St. Cloud.
