McKinley Elementary Students Sing for Local Veterans

It's a Veterans Day tradition the school has carried out for years

FARGO, ND — More than 160 students from kindergarten to 5th grade sang for our local veterans.

The nearly hour-long performance at McKinley Elementary paid tribute to veterans across the country.

About 30 veterans sat in as honored guests along with least 100 parents and family members.

This Veterans Day Program is a school tradition which goes back at least 17 years.

“We need to give as well and we need to thank others,” said Principal Cheryl Janssen. “Many people have sacrifices, and we need to make sure we thank them, part of that community, part of our country, that patriotism and that citizenship.”

Air Force veteran John Jorgensen served as the guest speaker.
