Tea with Royalty: Miss America Cara Mund Visits Sanford Children’s Hospital

FARGO, ND — Miss America made a stop at Sanford Children’s Hospital to have a tea party with some patients.
Each child got to wear her own Miss America crown.
They asked North Dakota native, Cara Mund, all kinds of questions, including whether or not she lives in a castle.
Mund is serving as the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network, which is why she also visited with some patients in their hospital beds afterwards.
“These young kids don’t get the typical childhood that most of us get so I think it’s really important to come in here and brighten their day just a little bit,” Mund said. “No child wants to be stuck in the hospital so if Miss America can come and make the day just a little bit better, I think I’m doing my job.”
Mund says she left Sanford Health inspired by how strong and brave the kids are, despite what they are going through.
