Man Suffers Severe Hypothermia After Being Pulled From Walker Lake

Man Was In Water For About 30 Minutes

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. — An Ottertail, Minnesota man was rescued after the snowmobile he was on fell through the ice on Walker Lake Saturday afternoon.

Two members of the Ottertail Fire Department, in water rescue suits, were able to pull the man from the water after about 30 minutes.

Hubert Hovland was taken to the Perham hospital with severe hypothermia.

Two others with Hovland also fell through the ice trying to rescue him.

They were not hurt and were able to get out on their own.
