Richland County Authorities Investigating Possible School Harassment in Colfax

Law enforcement was called in to determine if a crime was committed

COLFAX, N.D. — Authorities have stepped in to investigate a case of harassment, bullying or hazing at the high school in Colfax, North Dakota.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is following up with a report filed at Richland 44 High School.

Superintendent Tim Godfrey says he was notified late last week of the problem.

Law enforcement was called in to determine if a crime was committed.

“That’s the whole part is that at this point we’re still in the middle of doing interviews with individuals,” said Sheriff Larry Leshovsky. “We could come up with possibly all of those things or we may end up specifically showing it as being one of those things.”

Superintendent Godfrey is not commenting on how many students are involved and if any action has been taken against them.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the case.
