Minnesota Woman Killed On the Way to Twins Game

The Andover woman was traveling to a Twins spring training game in Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — An Andover, Minnesota woman was killed and 14 other Minnesotans were hurt when a suspected drunk driver struck their van after attending a Twins spring training game.

The group was driving from Fort Myers to Fort Lauderdale after the game on Tuesday evening.

Twenty-one-year-old Lauren VanReese was killed.

A four-year-old girl in the van was seriously hurt.

Another victim in the crash is 49-year-old Paul White, of Ham Lake, who won the $448 million Powerball jackpot in 2013.

The drunk driver has been identified as a 30-year-old Fort Myers man who had a blood alcohol content of .18, more than four hours after the crash.
