Social Distancing: A Knock-Out Punch to the Pandemic

Take a swing at beating winter blues with us.

It’s been hard on all of us, not being able to see family and friend the way we wanted to over the holidays.

And with winter weather setting in, the opportunities to play outside can be a little tougher to come by.

But thanks to some well-chosen holiday gifts, my four-year-old is learning to take out some of the frustration of social distancing in a healthy fashion.

The punching bag and gloves were not my idea, they were her dad’s.

I think it’s a great one.

My parents never taught me to throw a punch properly, although I was only a little older than her when I got in trouble for the first time for fighting at school.

(I’m not sure whether those two facts are related or not.)

Let’s be clear, I’m not an advocate of using violence to solve your problems.

However, I’m all for learning self-defense for little girls and for little boys — and no matter your age, boxing is a great cardiovascular workout.

How are you handling our second calendar year of social distancing?

Ready to give the pandemic a big ol’ punch in the nose?
