LIVE: Swing Training with Roger Maris Jr.

FARGO — You know what they say: it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.

And now, you can raise your backswing while you raise money to beat cancer at the second annual Swing Training event today.

It’s the official kickoff to this year’s Roger Maris All-Star Week.

Former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway, North Dakota State head football coach Tim Polasek and Roger Maris Jr. will be there playing, and so can you.

The event functions as a warmup for the 40th annual Roger Maris Celebrity golf tournament coming up in mid-June, and you can use your phone to sign up.

All the funds stay local and go to benefit Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center.

Maris Jr, who lost his father to cancer when the legendary ballplayer was only 51, is a driving force behind the work to raise awareness, support and funds for cancer patients in the region.

He sat down for a live interview on the Morning Show to talk about why the work is still so meaningful to him all these years later, and what you can do to get involved.
