Fedorchak Responds To Fake Texts Claiming She Dropped Out of U.S. House Race

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — A fake text message sent out to voters claimed Julie Fedorchak had dropped out of the U.S. House race but that is far from the truth.
The text used media clips from when Fedorchak withdrew from convention voting during the North Dakota Republican State Convention in April.
The party ended up endorsing Alex Balazs.
North Dakota Secretary of State’s office has received calls about the texts, and says the Century Code does provide recourse for candidates who feel the election was influenced by fraudulent activity.
Fedorchak says her campaign will be filing a complaint with the Federal Election Commission and expects a full investigation.
“These kinds of tactics just can’t be tolerated for this election or for any election. And we intend to push this as far as necessary to ensure that we don’t see this again.,” said Fedorchak.
A spokeswoman says North Dakota Democratic-NPL voters were also targeted by a text claiming Democrats were voting for Republican Rick Becker, calling it their “JFK moment”.
She called the attempt to deceive North Dakota voters, “disgusting”.
