LIVE: Heritage of India Day

MOORHEAD — If you’re looking for food, fun and fashion, plus a little taste of culture, you’re in luck this weekend in the metro.

The Indo-American Association of the Great Plains is teaming up with NDSU Association of Students from India for a major celebration of Indian heritage Saturday at the Hjemkomst Center.

It will feature Indian traditional clothing styles, dances, music, foods from local restaurant Passage to India, authentic Indian crafts, and more.

It’s called Heritage of India Day, and admission is free and open to the public.

The organizers treated the Morning Show to a little foretaste, including traditional and contemporary Indian dances performed by middle-schooler and dancer Annapoorna Rajesh.

Check out the full live interview about the role Indian-Americans play in the metro and what you’ll experience at this weekend’s festival.
