LIVE: Gourmet Lutefisk
FARGO — Would you pay $85.00 for a plate of lutefisk?
Or would someone have to pay you?
Gourmet lutefisk is coming to downtown Fargo, and it’s even got its own documentary crew.
Organizers at the Sons of Norway say the $85.00-a-plate, 150-seat event is sold out as of Friday afternoon.
The dinner is the work of an award-winning Norwegian chef, including traditional sides.
He’s coming to Fargo to teach local cooks how to prepare the lutefisk.
A PBS crew has been following the event from its inception, including from when the codfish were caught and pulled out of the water prior to preparation.
Event officials say it’s a cultural event that taps into the region’s Norwegian heritage and nostalgia.
The Sons of Norway’s Dan Haglund joined the Morning Show for a live interview about how they came up with the event and what to expect.
