LIVE: How Dr. Seuss’s “The Grinch” Might Just Steal Your Heart

MINNEAPOLIS — The most famous Christmas villain is not be entirely over his thieving ways.

But this year, instead of stealing Christmas, it’s possible he might just steal your heart, instead.

That’s as a Fargo native is mid-run as the star of the new production of “Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by one of the top children’s theaters in the country.

“The Grinch” has been one of the most popular shows at the Children’s Theatre Company in the Twin Cities for more than a decade.

And for seven of those years, Fargo native Reed Sigmund has brought the grouchy green bad guy to life.

The show relies on the source material first published as a children’s book back in 1957.

But this year’s production comes with a new director, and adds fresh changes to the show that address some modern problems with our culture.

Sigmund joined the Morning Show for a live interview about what it’s like to follow in the footsteps of iconic Grinches like those played by Boris Karloff, Jim Carrey, and Benedict Cumberbatch, and why the show can tap into the human hope over Christmas to see hearts all over grow three sizes that day.
