KVRR Exclusive: Man who stole ruby slippers never saw ‘Wizard of Oz’, had no knowledge of movie’s history

FARGO — Minnesota’s stolen ruby slippers are making history again.

The famous movie memorabilia is headed off to their new mystery owner.

That’s after someone paid a record-setting $28 million-plus for them at auction this past weekend, coming out to $32.5 million with house fees.

Now, the Fargo attorney who kept the slipper thief out of prison is talking with KVRR’s Morning Show.

In our Arts and Entertainment Connections story, KVRR’s Emily Welker has the interview with him about Fargo and its connections to the unusual case, and about why he says truth is stranger than fiction, even when it’s set in Oz.
