LIVE: Big Voices, Big Personalities in Fargo Moorhead Opera’s “Scalia/Ginsburg”

FARGO — People can get pretty loud when they’re talking about politics.

But they don’t have anything close to the volume these voices do.

The 2015 opera “Scalia/Ginsburg” is coming to the stage in the metro, courtesy of the Fargo Moorhead Opera.

It’s described as a “love letter” to the late, iconic Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and her best friend in life, and in the show, to the equally iconic Antonin Scalia.

The show follows their real-life escapades as political opposites on some of the most important cases in U.S. history, and as travel, adventure, dining, and opera-going buddies in real life.

The Opera’s members say the timing feels right for a show like this.

Curt Olds and Holly Janz of the FM Opera joined the Morning Show for a sneak preview of Janz as Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and for a live interview about what it was like inhabiting the characters whose legal brilliance and iconic personalities shaped their unique friendship, as well as the course of the United States.
