LIVE: Bliss in Springtime

FARGO — It’s the perfect music to get you thinking about the beauty of springtime, the outdoors, and all the joy it can bring in springtime.

It’s “Masterworks 4: Bliss,” the concert coming up this weekend at the Fargo-Moorhead symphony.

It’ll feature not just the symphony and selections by Mozart and Rachmaninoff, as well as a solo by violinist Sonja Bosca-Harasim.

She gave us a sneak preview of part of the piece “A Lark Ascending” by English composer Ralph Vaughn Williams.

Symphony conductor Christopher Zimmerman says it can be hard to drill down into which pieces most represent bliss for an audience.

But, he says, you’ll know it when you hear it.

He and Bosca-Harasim joined the Morning Show for live interviews about how they settled on the most blissful music, the risk they’re taking in performing these pieces, and the unusual reaction he’s predicting from the audience.
