LIVE: Repairing the Planet with “Right to Repair”
FARGO — April is Earth Month, and a local Right to Repair advocate is trying to help you take a more sustainable route by putting back some of the power in your hands to keep your devices in good repair.
Mark Schlossman is a local electronics repair specialist with his own Youtube channel.
It teaches you how to do your own repairs when devices like smartphones break.
It shows you tips on how to fix problems yourself, including how to get practice on old, nonworking devices, and what tools you’ll need.
He’s a proponent of the “Right to Repair” movement, which aims at getting tech companies to allow customers to repair their own devices without software or component restrictions.
Schlossman says when you buy a device, you should own it completely.
He joined the Morning Show for a live interview about why the Right to Repair movement can have benefits for the environment and for the consumer.
