LIVE: Weight On Your Mind? This Study Might Want You

FARGO — Your weight and fitness might be on your mind with summer activities coming into focus soon.

And the connection between weight, the human mind and the new class of weight-loss drugs on the market is on Concordia researchers’ minds, too.

Dr. Betsy Cogan is looking for volunteers in their 50s to 70s, both weight-loss users and non-users alike, to join her study to see if there’s a link between cognition, the drugs, and obesity later in life.

In it, you’ll step into the university’s “Bod Pod,” to have your body composition, resting metabolism and other physical data measured.

Then, they’ll test your cognition, including memory and other attributes, and compare the changes in data over the course of the study.

Dr. Cogan joined the Morning Show to explain what we know about the links between weight loss drugs and cognitive changes so far, and what they’re hoping to learn — maybe with your help.
