North Carolina Man Arrested In Grand Forks After Trying To Assault An Officer Following a Chase

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A North Carolina man is arrested for attempting to assault an officer following a pursuit in Grand Forks.

An officer tried to stop 22-year-old Martin Romo for speeding on Demers Avenue around 6:20 tonight but Romo fled.

Spike strips and an initial PIT maneuver didn’t stop him, but a second PIT maneuver did in the 400 block of 1st Avenue South.

Romo was among three people detained before he was arrested for fleeing, reckless endangerment and attempted assault on a law enforcement officer.

The passengers were released without charges.

No injuries were reported.
