Man facing attempted murder charge after shooting and chase in rural Ransom County

LISBON, N.D. (KVRR) — A shooting and high speed chase last Friday in rural Ransom County has a man facing attempted murder charges.

24-year-old Eric Johnson of Milnor, North Dakota is accused of firing a rifle at a man who came to the farm to help rescue a cat.

A bullet hit the man’s vehicle before he took off and was chased by Johnson in a stolen car that had been missing since last year.

He forced the victim off the road and fired another shot but missed.

Johnson was arrested on a number of charges including attempted murder, theft and reckless endangerment.

His bond was set at $100,000 and he is due back in court on July 8.
