Golden Drive for Homeless Kids’ Sock Drive Begins Soon

WEST FARGO — It’s time for our community to sock it to homelessness.

The nonprofit Golden Drive for Homeless Kids is starting off their sock drive next month and they want your help.

They’re asking for donations of socks, underwear, toiletries and other necessities for kids experiencing homelessness.

Founder Sue Baron says kids in that circumstance often don’t get their necessities replaced until they’re almost unusable.

And having fresh clean basics can help them feel better, which will help them do better in school.

Last year the drive collected 37,000 pairs of socks, and they’re looking to surpass that.

Baron joined the Morning Show to talk about how a pair of socks and a helping hand can be life-changing for an unhoused child in our community, and what’s driving the greater need this year.
