Health Connections: A 5k a Day for Movember

FARGO — November’s still a few weeks away, but when it comes to tackling tough men’s health topics like mental health and suicide, as well as testicular and prostate cancer, there’s no time to waste.

And that’s why one NDSU student and activist is pledging to run a 5k every day until October 25th to raise awareness and funds for Movember.

It’s a global nonprofit for improving men’s health, and Keegan Effertz wants you to participate.

You are invited to join Effert for a 5k “Dash and Dine for Movember” race around NDSU’s campus starting at 11 a.m. on October 25.

Effertz says the fundraiser shows other men it’s okay to be vulnerable, and to have conversations about these sensitive subjects.

He hopes to raise $2,000.

A raffle will be held following the race at Herds and Horns.

Effertz joined the Morning Show to talk about how it feels to take on a leadership role in men’s health activism, and what he wants other men to know about it.
