The wait is over – the first official Kwik Trip opens its doors in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — From a distance, it’s just like any other gas station, but team members at this Kwik Trip location at 1409 Main Ave say this company provides more than just gas.

“When you walk into one of our stores, you’re going to get a greeting and a smile from every one of our coworkers. You know we want to welcome everyone into our stores just like it’s your house. You’re a guest of our store and we want to make sure you feel welcome here,” said Melissa Bowers, District Leader for FM Kwik Trip/Star.

From donuts, chicken, burgers, and more, the company produces most of their products. 80% of their food products are made, shipped, and sold by their own company.

“We produce a lot of our own products, so a lot of the baked goods you see up front we produce ourselves, we produce our own pizzas, all of our soup, our own milk, we have a dairy in Wisconsin. We do take-home meals, we fry chicken here in the store. So, we do a lot of stuff ourselves that really helps us stay in stock with all of that,” said Bowers.

Kwik Trip was rated tops in customer satisfaction by the American Customer Satisfaction Index. And for the last five years, they have ranked at number one for USA Today’s Best Gas Station Brand.

“When you first walk in, you’re immediately greeted with all of our bakery products. Anything from Persians, long johns, cookies, dunkers, glazers, but then my favorite spot of the store would be our hot spot where we, Melissa, brought up, the chicken that we deep fry in the store, is crispy chicken sandwiches, is probably my favorite,” said Marcus Smith, Store Leader for Kwik Trip Moorhead #1275.

Several more Kwik Trips and Kwik Stars will be opening in the coming weeks.
