Tree Service Worker Killed by Falling Tree

The incident took place in Wadena County, Minnesota. The man fell from a tree he was sawing when the base of it broke beneath him.

BLUEBERRY TOWNSHIP, MN (KVRR) – A tree removal service worker died after a tree he was trying to cut down ended up falling on him.

According to the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at a house northeast of Menahga in rural Blueberry Township on October 9 just before 3:00 P.M.

The tree service employee reportedly climbed a tree to saw off the top of it, during which the tree’s base broke, sending the man to the ground. The tree also fell on top of him.

Those nearby attempted to perform CPR on the victim. When first responders arrived, they continued life-saving measures, but the man unfortunately died at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
