Fire, explosion levels home in Hibbing, Minnesota

HIBBING, Minn. (KVRR/FOX 9) — A fire and explosion left one person hurt in Hibbing, Minnesota.

The explosion also leveled the home.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday near Hibbing High School.

When fire crews arrived, the two-story house was fully engulfed and the neighboring home was also damaged by fire.

The fire was under control by a little after 9.

The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time and the condition of the person taken to the hospital is also unknown.

Hibbing is northeast of Grand Rapids, Minnesota in St. Louis County.
