Charm Studio Re-Opens After Devastating Fire

The fire also triggered a flood inside the building, leaving damage from smoke, the fire itself, and water.

DILWORTH, MN (KVRR) – Charm Studio owner Hana DuMarce was not in Dilworth when she got the news that a fire had broken out inside her business.

“My mom was here, and I asked her if she could take a look around and like, assess it for me and let me know, like ‘Can I come back to work on Monday?'” DuMarce recalls. “And she’s FaceTiming me like, ‘no, you’re not going to be able to.'”

The fire was somewhat luckily extinguished because it burned through a water pipe.

That pipe flooded the room, though – and that damage, combined with smoke and fire, left the space unusable.

“Couldn’t see anything left in there. It was a total loss. Everything else was just real damaged. The smell – it was hard to salvage anything at all,” said DuMarce.

Hana says she was fortunate enough to have building owners tackle the problem head-on, making relatively quick work of what could have been a long, arduous process.

Saturday, November 1st, was the grand re-opening – complete with gift bags, discounts, and the amazing feeling of community support.

Those who operate inside Charm say it’s great to be back alongside their familiar female entrepreneurs.

“Everyone is fantastic – I hear them being like ‘oh you should check out Kayla, she’s great at this’ – so we refer patients to each other, we recommend each other,” said Kayla Bachand of Lavender Health & Wellness. “It’s a really good community and very supportive.”

And everyone is ready to re-hit the ground running.
