A Hot Time in the Old Town: 8th Annual Hotdish Festival
FARGO — It’s one of the hottest tickets in town, at one of the coldest times.
The eighth annual Fargo Hotdish Festival is this weekend, and one contender is hoping to turn the tables on the competition.
Last year’s “Most Creative” and “People’s Choice” winner, the Jasper Hotel in downtown, is vying to be a contender for this year’s top honor.
They’re entering their “Drunken Short Rib Hot Dish.”
It’s a bourbon-laced short rib and root veggie recipe that has a lot of family history attached to it.
That’s the case with a lot of the most beloved hot dish recipes, which pack a wallop of fond Midwestern memories.
The Jasper’s Justin Clark joined the Morning Show to talk about the generations of cooks who contributed their ideas to the dish, about what it takes to truly appreciate a hotdish, and what to expect at this weekend’s event.
