Locally produced film “Roommate” gets big premier at Fargo Theatre

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Well it’s the big day for some local filmmakers set to see their latest film make its debut on the silver screen.

“Roommate” is a locally produced feature film that bills itself as a romantic thriller about a small-town teen at an elite CDC summer camp navigating emotional stakes with her assigned camp roommate during a mysterious lockdown.

The project was a major undertaking for the team, but the way they’ve seen the local filmmaking community grow has been so important to them.

“The side of film really hasn’t been able to be expressed as well, and I think there’s this underground of people, especially because of MSUM and the colleges, we’re coming together, and we need this outlet, because you’re going to die if you don’t have this outlet,” Director Jessica Hayes said.

The premier is free and open to the public at the Fargo Theatre. Doors open at 7, with the film starting at 7:30 PM
