Driver cited after hitting pedestrian on Demers Avenue in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A Grand Forks woman is being treated at Altru for unknown injuries after she was hit while walking across Demers Avenue.
Police were called to the intersection of Demers and 5th Street just before 11 o’clock this morning.
They say a 42-year-old man from Grand Forks was turning onto Demers when he hit the 53-year-old woman in the crosswalk.
Video from a nearby business revealed that the pedestrian had the walk signal when the incident occurred.
The driver was cited for failure to yield.
