FARGO — Golf lovers gathered to enjoy the fair summer weather to hit the links for a good cause.

The Dare 2 Stand Out Golf Classic is a way for the organization to provide adaptive equipment, scholarships and coaching opportunities for athletes with disabilities in our community.

The day started with a presentation and ceremonial tee shots, before the golfers revved up their carts for the shotgun start of the tournament.

The course also featured interactive holes that added a twist on the game, including closest to the Keg, Bucket Golf, and Cornhole.

“I think the big thing is wanting to make sure they’re able to experience the things everybody can, right? Be able to golf, to be able to be out with their friends and family and enjoy the beautiful golf courses, the beautiful whether like we have today, and just get out and enjoy life,” said Dare 2 Stand Out Executive Director Chris Mapes.

Hometown celebrity Josh Dumel also attended the event.
