Valentine’s Day is a special day for new couples to those married for years.
Everyone is talking about their big plans. But what if you don’t have any plans?…
Daniel and Stephanie are approaching their 1–year dating anniversary and are very excited for Valentine’s.
Daniel Brauch says, “We’re gonna go see ‘Fifty Shades Of Gray’ and then we’re gonna go to Old Chicago for dinner…and then I have a surprise for that so I can’t say that.”
A number of restaurants in the metro are offering Valentine’s Day specials.
Mezzaluna offers a special on an aphrodisiac.
Mezzaluna General Manager Richard Pallay III says, “Some of the featured items we’ll be doing: Oysters on the half–shell. You get $3 each or $15 for 6. And then our featured entree is gonna be a Pan–Seared Chilean Sea Bass with a 6oz. Lobster Tail. So it’s going to be very very delicious and kind of play on our aphrodisiac menu we have.”
But if you’re looking for something a bit more low key and with a relaxed environment, Texas Roadhouse has as special menu planned as well.
Texas Roadhouse Managing Partner Brandon Goebel says, “Valentine’s Day Special is going to be $35.99. You’re going to get to choose between two appetizers, a cactus blossom or fried pickles, then you’ll be able to choose between three different entrees which will be our chicken and ribs combo, a 6oz sirloin with chicken combo or a 8oz sirloin with shrimp combo.”
When all else fails, a simply night in can do the trick.
Leah Ball says, “Most of the time everything’s busy and packed and I think it’s better to say home. Enjoy a night together. Cook what we want to eat and not have to deal with extra people and the craziness.”
After 9–years of married life, the Balls just want to spend their Valentine’s Day together.
She adds, “I think the best time we have is staying home and spending time together because with work and life it gets crazy. We get busy.”
Not all restaurants offer reservations so you might encounter long wait times.
