LIVE: Artist Draws On Hope With Chalk In Moorhead
Artist Kim Jore Planning 10 Detailed Chalk Drawings Outside Local Businesses
Beautiful, detailed chalk drawings are popping up in Moorhead, thanks to an artist trying to help brighten our spirits during the pandemic.
Kim Jore owns Riverzen art studio in Moorhead. Her studio is shut down during the pandemic, but she’s kept busy creating elaborate chalk drawings outside local businesses.
She has made three so far, but hopes to draw one a week until she makes 10.
You can find them right now outside the Azool Hornbacher’s, Ace Hardware and Walgreens on Main Avenue in Moorhead.
She says she hopes the bright colors and fun designs will make essential trips to the store a bit easier during COVID-19.
She says, “So I think a little art helps and it helps my business because my business is closed right now so I’m creating commission work and other things for my art.”
She’s planning her next chalk drawing outside the Hornbacher’s on Main Avenue in Moorhead on Wednesday afternoon. Each drawing takes four to five hours to complete.
